OUR PURPOSE

At the InnerCity Mission, we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of Child Poverty by giving deprived, excluded and vulnerable children access to Information, Food, Clean water, Sanitation facilities, Healthcare services, Shelter and Formal education.

OUR SCOPE

The scope of the InnerCity Mission extends to the rural and urban areas, to locations other than city streets or busy urban centers - it covers every location where deprived, excluded and vulnerable children are found - on the streets, in inner city communities such as ghettos and slums, in shanty towns and in the villages.

OUR PRODUCT

As a Ministry Department, our product is the "Child" who has been successfully reached with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through our various programs aimed at breaking the cycle of Child Poverty and "giving his life a meaning".

OUR PROGRAMS

The heart of our projects and programs at the InnerCity Mission of Christ Embassy is to give succor and ameliorate the plight of millions of children who live under especially difficult circumstances. We have Welfare Programs which include a Food Kitchen, Primary Health Care and a Clothing Program; our Educational Programs includes a free Primary School where lessons are at no charge to the children and a Literacy Program for children in the inner cities. We also run a hostel facility for needy children and more recently, we have become involved with emergency relief operations as the need arises.

In a recent study, using the deprivation approach, UNICEF identified and measured Child Poverty by focusing on children's access to the following basket of basic goods and services:

  • Access to Food
  • Access to Clean water
  • Access to Sanitation facilities

The programs of the InnerCity Mission of Christ Embassy are specially designed to meet these basic needs.
